11 Days to "Say No to 6.9M"

After listening to the
OPENING SPEECH BY DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER, COORDINATING MINISTER FOR NATIONAL SECURITY AND MINISTER FOR HOME AFFAIRS MR TEO CHEE HEAN AT THE PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE ON POPULATION WHITE PAPER, 4 FEBRUARY 2013 (MONDAY), ~4PM,
will SIngaporeans repeat what the Saint Andrew’s Junior College student Reuban Wang said in June 2012, but in Hokkien, "KNNBCCB"!!!

Well, "What do you think?"

To hear him conclude his speech by saying,
"Madam Speaker, we have spent the past year taking in  a diverse range of views, concerns and aspirations expressed by Singaporeans. All the views have been considered, though not all could be fully accommodated as some pull in opposite directions. We have tried to find a judicious balance in charting out our population roadmap for the future, with the well-being and benefit of Singaporeans at the core.
is like being violated by rape, sodomy and then be run over by a cement truck twice over,  first in forward gear then in reverse.

If Teo Chee Hean is sincere with the well-being and benefit of Singaporeans at the core, he would not have wasted tax payers money and parliamentarian's time with this "PAPulation White PAPer".

Question:
  1. If he had spent the past year taking in  a diverse range of views, concerns and aspirations expressed by Singaporeans, why is there now an uproar from docile, submissive Singaporeans? Such furore that Singaporeans are organising  HARTAL.v2  on 16 February 2013 at Hong Lim Park to protest, saying "NO to 6.9 millions!"
  2. Having realised the unhappiness of the people why did he cock a snook at Singaporeans by continuing with the debate. Why not change the parliamentary debate to "How so solve the current unhappiness of Singaporeans who are disillusioned with the over-crowdedness; the expensive subsidised HDB flats; the long wait for armpit breathing space in buses and trains; the consistent traffic jams in CTE, PIE and other roads; the $92,100 COE to buy the cheapest car in Singapore and the ubiquitous 'Is This My Singapore?' where everywhere we go in SIngapore, we feel like we are in a foreign land?
I happened to watch the parliamentary highlights this evening and was perturbed by Minister Tan Chuan Jin belittling WP Gerald Giam implying that WP uses "rhetoric" and pressing "emotional buttons" to score political points. He and Iswaran tried very hard to make Gerald Giam and WP look bad.

Where emotional buttons are concerned, I think it is much worse to appear in photo op and television showing one's emotions at funeral wakes of taxi driver and innocent children tragically killed by vehicles. It is an open secret that Low Thia Kiang, since he was MP at Hougang, attended funerals of his residents who died. Neither he nor msm ever made a song and dance of it.

The honourable deed of "doing good in secret" is a not a trait of self-serving people who aim to be in the limelight to score points at the expense of others. Such self-serving bullies cannot understand let alone know how to "do good in secret". The decent, the sincere and the selfless who "do good in secret" do not flaunt their charitable traits and emotions to score political or any other points!

If Low Thia Khiang can be humble, gracious and graceful in his victory speech in Punggol East, I do not see why PAP ministers need to appear like bullies to members of the opposition party in parliament.  If PAP keeps keeping it up in their hubristic ways, they will be more shell-shocked in 2016 than they are after losing Punggol East ward. Their incredible credibility in AIMgate is for all to see.

PAP will pay a heavy price with its continued arrogance and refusal to admit that 7 million (give or take 100k) papulation in 2030 is not what Singaporeans want. Their refusal to stop acting and their continuing bullying ways will lead to much unhappiness not only to Singaporeans but themselves when push comes to shove.

If Gerald Giam is reading this, this is my message:

Not unlike Grace Fu, the guy who tried to put you down is one who feels that his job is a sacrifice to him and his family. He does not feel it a privilege to serve Singapore. He said, "I'm pained by the knowledge that I'll miss the many moments when my children are growing up and time with my family. My parents are not getting any younger. Those moments missed do not return. Ever... In time I will look back and there will be gaps. But that's life. I'm not sure how one considers it a privilege to miss these precious moments. It trivialises all of us who do cherish these." [Link]

Gerald, with the little NCMP allowance that you get and the time you spend in preparing and appearing in parliament you are a good person! Hormat! You put many PAP MPs and Ministers to shame.
Keep it up, Bro!
Hang in there!

The people are singing!

Update: (12.40am, 6 Feb 2013)
Yahoo's reported, "WP’s Chen Show Mao takes fire in Parliament over 5.9 million projection" [Link] It looks like there were more that 2 attack dogs in parliament embarrassing themselves as bullies! I often wonder why PAP is so stupid. The debate is on the 'papulation paper' put forth by PAP. Instead of defending PAP's proposal with sound reasoning, it sends its attack dogs to terrorise an "alternative proposal" that will never see the light of day.

The trouble with PAP is:
They ask, "What do you think?"
Being gentlemanly, we tell them what we think.
Then they fook us for thinking what we think.

It's time we fook PAP for what they think and, more so, what they do!
Now, 10 days to "Say No to 6.9M in 2030" at Hong Lim Park, 16 February 2013 at 4.30pm
